Brunei, the tiny sultanate, is importing its beef supplies with a monitoring system which aims to ensure that proper halal procedures are followed, the Meat Trade News blog reported.
Two officers from the Halal Food Control Unit in Changchun province, China, monitored 100 cattle being slaughtered at the HaoYue Halal Meat Company.
The rest of the cattle herd will be slaughtered this week where the processed meat will be packaged and delivered to the port of Dalian.
The processed meat will be packed in plastic bags and stored in a freezer to be sent to Brunei by ship.
