Gulf Air's Heathrow lounge to offer halal menu  LONDON, March 15, 2011 (News Agencies)-- . Despite being a major international traveling hub London's Heathrow airport has very few dining options for Muslim travellers. This is about to change for some travellers with Gulf Air opening in its new 'Falcon Gold Lounge' at the airport. The use of the facility, however, is limited to business class travellers.
The expansive, 6500 sq.ft Falcon Gold lounge – one of the largest in the terminal -will offer a self serve buffet with a wide range of halal items.
Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Samer Majali said, “Air travel these days has become savvier and passengers, particularly premium travelers, have become more discerning. With airports increasingly becoming busier, lounges are no longer just a place to wait for flights or transit spots between connections; premium passengers look for an oasis of peace and comfort, expect higher levels of facilities, and personalized service. I am sure it will be a refreshingly different experience for our premium passengers.”
“One of the key components of Gulf Air’s new business strategy is to focus on improving our products and services we offer our customers. The lounge is an example of this. As we keep improving ourselves in our customer service on the ground, we will continue to add more features and facilities in the air as well, so that our premium customers enjoy a consistently enhanced experience throughout their journey”  Majali concluded.
