A new Halal shop in the university town of Urbana-Champaign is being welcomed by the area's Muslim community as a blessing. 
 
The Casbah store will carry halal meats such as fresh lamb, beef, goat and chicken and deli items.
 
The owner says that he plans to buy lamb and goat from local farmers in the Champaign County area. His beef will come from the local area and Chicago, and chicken will be purchased in Chicago.
