The Pakistani government in its latest budget has allocated Rs. 20 million for the development and establishment of a halal food certification system. The country, since last year, has increased its efforts in marketing Halal products.

The allocation is part of Rs. 18 billion package to be delivered under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for Food and Agriculture Division.
