The head is to be removed after bleeding is over. The process of Zabiha, according to Shariah, is the legal purification of the flesh of the animal. Muslim minorities such as those in North America are asked to make arrangements for slaughtering animals so that the meat will be lawful for them to eat. Allah (S) knows best.
